Meet Aishwarya Pokhriyal, an AI Safety Fellow at Ashoka University, where she works with the EkStep Foundation to develop India’s first AI Safety and Assurance Framework, a landmark initiative for ethical, accountable, and culturally grounded AI.

With a strong foundation in philosophy, law, and public policy, Aishwarya’s research examines how societies can design governance models that keep human values at the heart of AI. Her work connects global AI principles with India’s social and cultural realities, bridging ethics and inclusion in a meaningful way. 💡

She has also contributed to policy efforts with NITI Aayog and the Ministry of Women and Child Development, helping shape national discussions on fairness, safety, and digital accountability.
